Summer like no other - summary of June

Py_tej is back!

We’re back with events! In June we decided to organize Py_tej, our meetup for Python enthusiasts. We for sure miss meeting you face to face and chatting after presentations, but, to ensure the safety of attendees, we decided to organize it online. After all, knowledge-sharing can’t be stopped by anything! Dawid Woźniak, our Senior Software Engineer & Engineering Analyst, talked about Django & CQRS, while Piotr Glocer talked about Opoca and how to develop ML projects. With some hurdles to overcome, we were able to share their knowledge with you and can’t wait to do it again - see you soon!

Join us for an online meeting!

If you follow us on social media, you know very well that we’re in full recruitment mode! There are two ways you can meet with us:

Regardless of what option you choose, you’ll meet with someone from our HR team and with a technical person so you can be sure that you’ll get your fix of tech talks! At the moment we’re conducting those meetings online - send an email to our HR Managers or apply for a job and we’ll see you soon!

Design needs to be both visually pleasing and user friendly

This month we also shared with you an effect of the hard work our Product Design does during their projects. While working on a Custom Data Management tool for our client, we dealt with the improvement of the global trade management app for US customs and trade data.
The design for such an app needed to not only be visually pleasing but it was also our priority to create a proper information architecture. After all, our client’s database included a high-volume and complex bunch of information (e.g. tariffs, documents, rulings, articles, contact details) - its relations needed to be detected, organized, and mapped out in an effective manner! If you want to see for yourself how our Product Design dealt with such needs, check out our Behance and see an example of how to properly combine esthetics with great UX design!

It’s been that long already?

Surprise - it’s been 10 episodes since we published the first Piątki po Deployu! During this time, hosted by Miłosz and Mateusz, has talked about React and React Native, recruitment in the IT industry, Chill Driven Development, Python and Nojde.js, seniority in development, and much, much more. The covered such topics as the trends in development and their own (and their guests’!) expertise. From what I know, they have plenty of exciting ideas for the future, so better follow them on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud, and Youtube!

As always, in my summary of the month, there needs to be a section where I tell you who was introduced on our social media! In June we told you about our Project Manager Piotr, whose exquisite taste in food became a legend within Merixstudio. We also introduced our Mobile Developer Wiesiek, the biggest Pokemon fan there is, Python Developer Mikołaj, a patient guardian of our website and video game enthusiast, and UX Designer Kasia, an experienced yogi who knows how to get the best of 24h. And we also introduced little ol' me', EB Manager Ola. ;)

That would be all for this month’s summary! As you can see, we were quite busy - with new sections and designs published, an event organized, and online meetings scheduled, we didn’t even notice how fast June went! Let’s hope that July will be the same - filled with exciting tasks and content development!
