Sharing our frontend knowledge!
Once again we invited you to join us during Front.radar, our meetup for the front-end development community. As it is nowadays custom, we organized it online to ensure everyone's safety. After all, safety comes first, even before broadening your skills! This time, we shared with you two insightful presentations about Deno and Serverless REST API.
As always, we held a QA session after each lecture, where attendees were able to ask speakers questions about their presentations. All of that, no surprises there, wrapped up in plenty of jokes and chit-chat. And if front-end is not your piece of cake, don't fret - soon we will have something for Python Developers! ;)
#MeetMerix and learn more about our team
By now, it's our tradition to start a week by introducing yet another person on our social media. Every Monday you can learn about someone new that's part of the Merixstudio crew - what they do, how they impact our group, and what it's like to work with them. This month you were able to meet Marek, our karaoke monster and a #parentinggoals dad, Klaudia, multilingual literature lover, Maria, a highly-skilled yoga teacher, and Miłosz, a podcaster whom you've probably met before if you attended any of our events. See, we're quite a diverse bunch - you can relax and enjoy some quality time with Maria and Klaudia, or party hard with Miłosz and Marek. The beauty lies in the variety of options! ;)
See our faces, hear what we have to say, and join our team
Everyone working in social media will tell you that video is king. And no wonder, you can take a sneak peek at behind the scenes and see for yourself that my summaries are really true - we really like working together. :) To show you what it's like to work at Merixstudio, we are giving the voice to individual teams. In August we introduced two teams - Product Design and Business Development.
So if you're interested in how those two groups work, check out the videos above! You can learn about their duties, how they conduct projects, and how they cooperate between departments. In the videos, they also bring up the topic of the knowledge and qualities they deem the most essential in their line of work. Sounds quite insightful, am I right? And if these departments are not of your interest, we are in a full recruitment mode - I'm sure you'll find a job offer just for you!
Chatting about THE mBank bug
If you were anywhere near the Internet in August (or have mBank app on your phone), you probably have heard about the bank's little QA problem. There were jokes everywhere about their surprising push notifications, but we were wondering what led to such a blunder. That's why only one day after the whole shebang Miłosz sat down to have a chat about the whole situation with Adam Szajder, who heads the communication department in mBank's electronic channels. But I'm not going to tell you anything - you need to listen to Piątki po Deployu on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube to find out what happened!
Summertime in style
A post shared by Merixstudio (@merixstudio) on Aug 19, 2020 at 6:15am PDT
As you can see from in the previous points, we were working hard in August! However, this month indisputably is also a time for taking life a little easier, going on vacations, and allowing yourself to rest. And that's exactly what plenty of us did - in Merixstudio's attire, of course! Our backpacks and thermal bottles traveled the world with us, joined us on bike trips, leisured on the beaches, and allowed us to relax in black-and-orange style. And that's how we like it! ;)
Barking mad coworkers

Are you a bit jealous when you see that your coworkers are slacking off on vacation while you're buried under the tasks? Well, there's no better way to feel better than to play with a dog that's visiting your office! In August our furry best friends seem to sense our despair when some of us were traveling, so they paid us a visit to brighten our moods. And brighten our moods they did! After all, no one can resist cracking a smile when there's a furrball of joy speeding in your direction.
Telling you all about both programming and business
Ok, back to telling you about our work! In August we shared knowledge not only during Front.radar, but also by cooperating with the media! First, our Python Developer Maciej was a guest during a live QA session about a journey from Junior to Senior Python Developer. Wondering what the work of a programmer looks like, what difficulties we face, and what inspires us in our work? Check out the recording and find out!
And what if you prefer more business-related knowledge? Well, then you need to check out the HR Business Partner magazine, where our COO Marcin was published in August! In his piece, he touched on such topics as how we changed during the last couple of years, our leadership roles, how to set and achieve your business goals, EB strategy, and much more. Sounds interesting? You can read all about it on the magazine's website!
That would be all for this month! As you can see, as usual, it was a mixture of leisure and hard work, playing with dogs, and sharing knowledge. Something tells me that September will be no different - see you then! Probably in a much warmer attire, but still having fun and doing a good job.
