Like I told you a hundred times, and I will keep saying it, Merixstudio is a bunch of fascinating people. Each of us has a lot to do after the job is done. I’m often impressed how my teammates can make it in only 24 hours. Well, they can somehow so that it’s a great subject to show for it :)
This time it’s girls time! In the following article, I’ll describe passions of two Merix girls. One of them is Maria who works as a UX Designer. Maria has to be flexible not only when it comes to clients’ requirements and needs but also on the yoga mat.
Maria loves yoga so much that she decided that she wants to share it with others. So that she finished a course in Spain (led by Vidya Jacqueline Heisel) and became a yoga instructor.
When I asked her about the beginning of yoga exercises, she said:
In fact, I’ve always loved different forms of gymnastics since childhood. We had a book about yoga at home, and I used to use it from time to time. Then, I came across my first yoga classes, and I fell in love.
If you don’t already know, there are plenty of types of yoga. Everybody can find something for them. Maria tried different styles, but Vinyasa is what she likes the most. It’s because Vinyasa is more dynamic and creative.
I think the style is much more comprehensive than others.
Maria also added Yin Yoga to her plan recently. In Poland it’s something fresh new, but at the same time, Yin Yoga is becoming more and more popular. Moreover, she tried Acro Yoga what is really awesome - just check out what is all about:
Maria definitely is passionate about yoga. But what was the reason for becoming the instructor?
I’ve been thinking about this for quite a long time. I made a decision when I saw a movie of Vidya's school. It’s also the next step of my practice for me.
She keeps telling that teaching is a high motivation for her.
Being yoga instructor gives me an extra satisfaction. I love help other to keep them fit and reduce stress.
Maria admits that is awesome to see that her students make progress and overcome the limitations month by month.
What are the positives of doing yoga? Besides working and healthy body (obviously), it’s a great way to meet new, interesting people, who quickly become your friends.
Talking about friends, it’s a good time to move to the next lady - Ola, my friend from PR team.
She is passionate about music and singing, what you can easily guess when sitting next to Ola ;) She often hums while she does stuff. Her fascination with music started early in life.
When I was a kid, I auditioned to Wartaki - a scouting musical group that was extremely popular in my town. While my audition was a disaster (I got an extreme stage fright and forgot all the lyrics!), surprisingly I got in and sang my heart out for few years.
At the same time, she was learning to play on the keyboard at home. Unfortunately, she didn’t move past Christmas carols ;)
Ola has had a break from learning music and pursued other interests. But it occurred that, like now in the office, she couldn’t stop signing.
Even if it was only at home, returning to music was always in the back of my head! A friend I've shared an apartment with also informed me that I'm constantly singing, which I never even noticed! Talk about being a good flatmate.
But enough was enough! Living without music was a horror for Ola. So that she joined Republika Rytmu school, where she’s still learning singing and soon will start music production lessons.

Ola had the opportunity to attend two concerts so far. Soon you’ll be able to participate in the third one because she’s having rehearsals at the moment.
I'm also trying my hand in recording something of my own.
All I mentioned above is only a beginning of Ola’s musical journey.
It also took a while to overcome the stage fright and take the first step, but there's nothing more gratifying and freeing that jamming with people until 6 in the morning or coming up with your own ideas when creating songs!
We're looking forward to the next concert. In the meantime, we’ll be relaxing and strengthen our bodies on the yoga mat ;)
Read the previous article about Merix folks’ hobbies. And wait for the next one, because I have a lot to describe ;) Stay tuned!
